When planning a day of wine tasting in Napa Valley, one of the most common mistakes visitors make is trying to do too much. Napa rewards a slower pace, and the number of wineries you visit in a single day has a huge impact on how the experience feels.

For most visitors, the right answer is simple: two to three wineries in one day.

That range allows enough time to enjoy each tasting, travel comfortably between stops, and avoid feeling rushed or overloaded with wine by mid-afternoon. Keep reading for our top tips for planning and keeping things flexible, plus a sample itinerary that gives you time to actually enjoy what makes Napa special.

Why Two to Three Wineries Works Best

Photo courtesy of Frank Family Vineyards

Wine tastings in Napa are not quick stops. Most experiences are designed to be seated, guided, and unhurried, often lasting an hour or more. When you factor in travel time, check-in, walking the property, and transitions between appointments, a full tasting day fills up faster than people expect.

Trying to squeeze in four or five wineries often turns the day into a schedule instead of an experience. Tastings start to blur together, conversations feel cut short, and there’s little room to enjoy the setting or ask questions.

First Time Visiting Napa Valley?

First-time visitors often underestimate how much there is to see and do in Napa. Our 3-Day Napa Valley Itinerary shows how to pace winery visits while leaving time for meals, scenery, and downtime.

What Slows a Napa Wine Tasting Day Down

While two to three wineries works for most people, a few factors can affect how much you can realistically fit into a day. A few practical factors tend to have the biggest impact.

  • Geography and transitions
Wineries may look close on a map, but drive time, parking, and check-in all add up, especially when appointments are spread across different parts of the valley.
  • Type of tasting experience
Seated tastings, private experiences, and library selections take significantly longer than walk-up or standing tastings.
  • Pacing and breaks
Lunch, water, and downtime aren’t optional. Skipping them usually leads to palate fatigue and a rushed afternoon.
  • Group dynamics and transportation
Larger groups move more slowly, and while having a driver helps with logistics, it doesn’t eliminate the need for breaks.

Sample One-Day Napa Tasting Itinerary

This is what a well-paced Napa day looks like when you plan for three tasting experiences, with lunch treated as one of them. We’ve focused this itinerary around Yountville and Oakville, which are centrally located in the middle of Napa Valley.

The day starts slowly, with breakfast at your hotel and a mid-morning tasting at Silverado Vineyards. The estate-grown wines and peaceful views from the outdoor terrace will ease you into the day without feeling rushed.

Silverado Vineyards

From there, the focus shifts to a wine-and-food experience at Sequoia Grove Winery, where a multi-course pairing serves as both lunch and a tasting. Their Wines + Bites tasting features housemade culinary pairings, but for something more substantial (and impressive), don’t miss their Cab-focused Ultimate Wine & Food Experience.

After lunch, there’s time to walk, shop, or reset in Yountville before an educational afternoon tasting at Bell Wine Cellars. From there, head back to your hotel to freshen up, then choose dinner nearby to keep the evening low-key. After a full day of tastings, most people are ready to relax rather than venturing too far.

Want Lunch to Count as a Tasting?

In Napa, lunch doesn’t have to interrupt the day. Wine and food pairing experiences combine a proper meal with guided tastings, making them ideal for well-paced itineraries.

What IF I want to do more?

Beringer Vineyards
Photos courtesy of Beringer Vineyards

Four wineries or more in one day is possible, but it only works when the day is structured differently from the start.

This typically requires:

  • Keeping tastings tightly grouped, often within a single town or AVA.
  • Building flexibility into appointment times, so one long tasting doesn’t derail the rest.
  • Mixing formats, rather than booking four full seated experiences.
  • Treating lunch as a tasting, such as a winery lunch or multi-course pairing.

Even with careful planning, many visitors find that four stops is the upper limit before the day starts to feel compressed rather than relaxed. That said, towns like Napa—where tasting rooms are clustered all within a few blocks downtown—make it easier to do so.

How This Fits Into a Longer Trip

If you’re staying for more than one day, spreading tastings across multiple days makes an even bigger difference. Two wineries per day over a weekend often feels far more relaxed than trying to see everything at once.
For longer stays, this approach leaves space for scenery, shopping, relaxing at the spa, and getting in a round of golf, as well as those unplanned moments that often become highlights of the trip.

Not Sure When to Visit?

The time of year you visit Napa can affect everything from crowd levels to tasting availability. See the best times to visit Napa Valley if you want a slower pace and fewer people competing for reservations.

Conclusion

For most visitors, two to three wineries per day is the sweet spot in Napa Valley. It gives you time to enjoy each experience, keeps the day from feeling rushed, and makes the trip far more enjoyable overall.

If this is your first visit, err on the side of fewer tastings. Napa is best experienced slowly.

These tunnels keep barrels cool, but they also set the stage for intimate tastings, candlelit tours, and a sense of discovery you just won’t find in a crowded tasting room.

From the small, hidden caves to the jaw-dropping ones, exploring a Napa Valley wine cave feels like stumbling onto a local secret—except the secret comes with a glass of Cabernet in your hand.

Martini’s most popular wines, paired with local delicacies.

Its proprietors, the Schlatter family, and winemaker Jeff Crawford, focus on Bordeaux varieties, employing thoughtful farming and winery practices to ensure the wines are world-class and reflective of Napa Valley terroir. To that end, Merryvale Vineyards is Napa Green Land and Napa Green Winery certified.

Fantesca Estate & Winery

This property was originally the dowry of Caroline Bale for her marriage to Charles Krug in the mid-1800s. Current owners Susan and Duane Hoff wanted to recognize this rich heritage when they purchased it, naming it after a clever and strong-willed lead female character from the Italian Commedia dell’Arte, which was the inspiration for Cirque du Soleil. Fantesca Estate is now known for small-production, award-winning wines produced in a stunning setting that includes a 300-foot Spring Mountain cave, sprawling vineyard views, and luxurious wine experiences. Trust us, it’s beautiful.

Insider Tip: Got a favorite quote (yours or someone else’s)? Submit it to be considered as a “Fortune Corkie” and printed on one of Fantesca’s wine corks.

Beringer

Beringer

Jacob Beringer and his brother Frederick came to Napa from Mainz, Germany, ultimately purchasing 215 acres in 1875, which would become home to what is now California’s oldest continuously operated winery. Beringer would build on this tradition of industry “firsts,” becoming the first to give public tours in 1934, and the first and only winery to have both a red and a white wine named #1 Wine of the Year by Wine Spectator. Be sure to visit the iconic Rhine House mansion for its stunning stained-glass windows and architecture while sipping reserve and single-vineyard wines.

Insider Tip: For $35, take the Legacy Cave Tour, where you will sip a selection of wines as your guide leads you through the Old Winery and historic tunnels while sharing details of Beringer’s rich history and commitment to quality.

Markham Vineyards

Markham Vineyards

This longstanding winery got its start with the dawn of winemaking in Napa Valley. The original builder of Markham Vineyards’ iconic Stone Cellar came to Napa from Bordeaux, initially arriving with other Gold Rush pioneers. Instead of gold, the winemaker discovered Napa’s rich soil, perfect for growing wine grapes, and utilized his skills in viticulture to become one of the largest producers prior to Prohibition. Markham’s tasting room is a beautiful space to sample the winery’s renowned Merlots. We particularly love the Exploration of Markham Tasting, which includes coveted new release and library selections, culminating in a behind-the-scenes barrel tasting.

Insider Tip: If you happen to be in town for one of Markham Vineyards’ events, be sure to snag tickets! All of these experiences take place in the historic Stone Cellar, featuring floor-to-ceiling wine barrels and a beautiful stone interior. Events include everything from dinners with renowned chefs to craft classes like wreath making.

One might think that it would be easy to taste wine in Napa Valley at almost all hours of the day, but while there are lots of bars and restaurants that offer excellent wines by the glass and bottle, “last call” for tours and wine tastings at most Napa wineries is well before the sun sets over the vineyards.

Still, if you’re not much of a daytime drinker or are looking to keep tasting Napa Valley wines into the late afternoon/early evening, there are a few excellent wineries and tasting rooms where you can snag a reservation (or even walk in) until at least 5:00 p.m.

Please note that hours of operation are subject to change, and it’s always a good idea to check with the winery before visiting. Additionally, some wineries may have limited hours during certain seasons or days of the week.

One hour north of San Francisco, all of life’s greatest indulgences—wine, food, relaxation, and adventure—can be experienced all at once in Napa Valley, one of the top Wine Country destinations in the world.

Thirty miles long and five miles wide, this small slice of heaven is home to more than 500 wineries throughout a collection of six quaint towns: Napa, Yountville, Oakville, Rutherford, St. Helena, and Calistoga. Each has its own personality and places to discover; from Napa’s urban wine trail to Yountville’s renowned dining scene to Calistoga’s detoxifying hot springs, there’s something for every kind of traveler, whether you’re an oenophile, foodie, adventurist, or self-care aficionado. Read on to learn how to plan a trip to Napa Valley.

When Is The Best Time To Visit Napa Valley?

There’s no bad time to visit. Depending on your plans, any season could be the best time to visit Napa Valley. While September and October are two of the busiest months, offering the chance to experience the annual grape harvest in action, the winter months have their own appeal. It’s quiet, uncrowded, and not too chilly, with temperatures mostly in the 50s and 60s. Plus, many hotels offer hard-to-beat off-season rates. Your best chance of rain is in the spring, but the blooming fields of bright, yellow mustard also make it one of the most Instagram-worthy seasons to plan a trip.

Whenever you do decide to pack your bags and pay Wine Country a visit, we’ve put together the perfect 3-day Napa Valley itinerary for first-time visitors, covering all of the “must do’s” over a long weekend trip.

Day 1 in Napa Valley

Visit a Historic Winery

You can’t visit Napa Valley without a trip to some of the area’s most historic and famous wineries. From Napa, head north on scenic Highway 128 toward St. Helena, first stopping at Rutherford’s Beaulieu Vineyard, one of the longest continually operating wineries in Napa Valley, before making your way to Louis M. Martini Winery to admire the renovated space while you sip.

wine and food tasting experiences at Markham Vineyards

Your next stop takes you to Markham and Stag’s Leap Wine Cellars, where you’ll be able to taste iconic wines while discovering more about Napa’s winemaking heritage. Other historically significant winery stops worth considering include Beringer Vineyards and Charles Krug (two of Napa Valley’s oldest wineries). Along with offering unique flavors and tastings, each location takes visitors back to the beginning, unbottling a story that highlights how Napa Valley made its mark on the world. While three days in Napa isn’t long enough to visit every winery, you can’t go wrong in choosing between this selection.

Stroll over to the Oxbow Public Market, where you can shop from a myriad of local vendors for souvenirs and gifts, like locally-made olive oils or spirits. You can also grab a pre-dinner snack—think oysters from Hog Island Oyster Co., a mini Sweet S’mores or Chocolate Velvet cupcake from Kara’s Cupcakes, or housemade sourdough bagels from Loveski Deli. Thirsty? Grab a pint at Fieldwork Brewing Company.

Stop into one of the many wine tasting rooms, wine bars, or restaurants for happy hour, such as Arch & Tower for incredible river views and wine tasting, Carpe Diem, or Compline wine bars. Reserve a hotel room in Napa so that you can be within walking distance (or just a short drive) to downtown’s many restaurants, bars, and tasting rooms. The urban chic Andaz Napa is at the heart of downtown Napa activity, where loft-style rooms are both stylish and inviting, while Milliken Creek’s peaceful riverfront location offers guests a quieter escape just a few minutes from the downtown scene.

One of the beautiful aspects of crafting the perfect Napa Valley itinerary is that Wine Country offers something for wine enthusiasts of all types. From luxurious hotels and spa resorts to more affordable motel accommodations, your Napa Valley trip planning can incorporate a mix of quick stops and longer stays for deeper relaxation. Our Napa Valley lodging showcases everything from campgrounds and vacation rentals to the best resorts.

Day 2 in Napa Valley

Spend your second day exploring the towns that put the “Valley” in “Napa Valley.” The small towns of Yountville, Oakville, Rutherford, St. Helena, and Calistoga are referred to by locals as the “UpValley,” so use that term if you want to blend in. We recommend starting your day early, so you can plan on taking in as many activities and offerings as possible. If transportation or traveling by car isn’t an option, there are plenty of tour companies that can take you to all of the best spots. Explore Napa Valley Wine Tasting Tours for more.

Breakfast in Yountville

For breakfast, head to chef Thomas Keller’s famous Bouchon Bakery in Yountville for pastries and espresso. Most likely there will be a line out the door, but it moves quickly. If you want to double down, you can head to Mini Model across the street. This is a smaller location of the locally-acclaimed Model Bakery. Get the English muffin. It’s so good that Oprah Winfrey actually has them flown straight to her front door. For a more elegant brunch option, head to RH Yountville, where dishes like avocado toast on charred sourdough and black forest bacon are perfectly paired with their signature RH mimosa.

Visit a Boutique Winery

Cliff Lede Winery
Photo courtesy of Cliff Lede Vineyards

Because you visited some of the oldest, largest, and most popular wineries on Day 1, make an appointment at a boutique or family-owned winery next and compare experiences. A boutique winery can mean several things: a more personalized experience (sometimes with the winemaker or owner), less of a crowd, and super primo wines (especially Cabernet Sauvignon, which Napa Valley is best known for). Some of our favorite family-owned and/or boutique wineries to visit UpValley are Goosecross Cellars, Bell Wine Cellars, and Cliff Lede Vineyards in Yountville, Raymond Vineyards and Crocker & Starr in St. Helena, and Groth Vineyards and Winery in Oakville or Staglin Family Vineyard in Rutherford.

Photos courtesy of Sequoia Grove Winery

Also in Rutherford is the family-owned Sequoia Grove Winery, where a variety of tasting experiences await. Check out the impressive Taste of Cabernet, where a multi-course menu crafted by Executive Chef Spencer Conaty highlights the marriage between food and wine, or the more approachable (and less filling) Wine + Bites experience to tide you over until lunch.

Lunch in St. Helena

Gott's Roadside

For lunch, continue to head north and pull over at the original Gott’s Roadside location in St. Helena. Formerly Taylor’s Automatic Refresher, when Gott’s took over, they kept the old, 50s-style roadside building, now a Napa Valley landmark. There may be a line, but the burgers and shakes are a can’t-miss. Nestled at the gateway of St. Helena’s charming Main Street, so you can walk your meal off afterwards with some window shopping at the local boutiques.

Relax and Recharge in Calistoga

For the better part of the afternoon, drive the eight miles from St. Helena to Calistoga for some spa time. This quirky, little town is best known for its healing mineral waters from natural hot springs, plus mud baths that’ll make your skin as smooth as a newborn. Make an appointment for a spa treatment ahead of time; there are so many local spas to choose from, from luxe resorts like Indian Springs and Solage to hip boutique gems like Dr. Wilkinson’s Backyard Resort & Mineral Springs to more intimate and classically restorative escapes at Golden Haven Hot Springs.

If you have some time after, take a stroll down Calistoga’s main drag Lincoln Avenue to shop, taste wine, or grab a pint at the Calistoga Inn Restaurant & Brewery.

Dine at a World-Renowned Restaurant

Violetto

For your last supper of the trip, go big and make a reservation at one of Napa Valley’s finest dining establishments. St. Helena is home to the new Violetto restaurant, Christopher Kostow’s The Charter Oak, and Harvest Table. In Yountville, choose from the late Michael Chiarello’s Bottega, or Thomas Keller’s The French Laundry (if you can get in and money is no issue) or Ad Hoc. Wherever you end up, you won’t leave hungry or disappointed.

Stay

Meadowood Napa Valley

Book a hotel in St. Helena for the second night of your trip. For a true Wine Country escape, Meadowood offers peace and tranquility, situated in the hillside just outside of town. And for something more contemporary and convenient, check out the Wydown Hotel, located right on St. Helena’s Main Street.

Day 3

Take Flight in a Hot Air Balloon

hot air balloons

Schedule your travel plans home later in the day so that you have time for one last hurrah. One of Napa Valley’s most sought-after adventures is a sunrise hot air balloon ride over the vines. We promise that the 6 AM wake up call is worth it. Don’t forget your camera!

Check out Napa Valley Aloft to schedule your flight, which often includes a post-flight sparkling wine toast. However, if soaring above the valley isn’t your thing and you’d prefer to fit in another winery visit, don’t miss exploring the caves and distinct wines of Pine Ridge Vineyards, situated in the heart of the Stags Leap District.

If you’re thinking about extending your stay or already getting the jump on another Napa Valley trip, check out our other ideas.

Conclusion

Although three days in Napa Valley only scratches the surface of what this incredible corner of Wine Country has to offer, you’ll make a great head start with this first-timer’s itinerary. From floating above the vineyards in a hot air balloon to sipping Cabernet at wineries both boutique and world-renowned, you’ll truly run the gamut of everything there is to experience in Napa. We won’t blame you if you start planning your next trip before your first is even over..

Wine tours with a private chauffeur are fantastic, yet there’s something special about an on-site winery tour in Wine Country. With over 400 wineries across Napa Valley alone, choosing the top winery tours might seem overwhelming. Fortunately, we’ve sifted through Napa’s extensive selection to compile a list of some of the best, allowing you to concentrate on the most important part—the wine. Here are the top winery tours you shouldn’t miss in Napa Valley.

Boutique Charm

Crocker & Starr | Emma K. Morris

Crocker & Starr

Crocker & Starr is a boutique winery at its core, offering guests a more intimate Napa experience than some of the bigger names. This shines through in their tasting options—of which there is only one. Luckily, the Vineyard Experience tour packs enough of a punch that no other options are needed. Every visit is an exclusive, private experience tailored to each guest’s preferences. You’ll start by taking a stroll through the vineyards, sparkling in hand, while learning about the winery’s sustainable farming practices. Next, you’ll discover how each wine is made before finishing out your tasting with small-production estate varietals under the Garden Arbor.

Insider Tip: Because Crocker & Starr only offer limited tasting options, you’ll typically need to snag a reservation well in advance.

Art enthusiasts will want to make a point to book Hess’ walking tour of their on-site art museum, which includes an intimate tour of the impressive contemporary art works on display, followed by a seated tasting of current release wines.

Insider Tip: If you have a little more time to spare, upgrade your visit with the 90-minute Tour of the Palate Experience. As with the Walking Tour of the Museum, you’ll spend time exploring the collection of contemporary art, but you’ll follow it with a tasting of estate-exclusive wines paired with a seasonal, three-course menu created by Hess’ own executive chef.

Groth Vineyards & Winery

For four decades, the family-owned Groth Vineyards & Winery has been making noteworthy wines from its expansive estate in Napa Valley’s Oakville AVA, as well as from other reputable vineyards in the region. Starting this July, the winery will welcome visitors to experience the estate and its vines like never before. The Among the Vines: Oakville Estate ATV Tour is a 90-minute experience (limited to four guests) that takes you on an easy-going ATV ride around and through the estate vineyards. Along the way, you’ll learn about Groth’s viticulture practices and stop for sips of wine while admiring the beautiful vines, majestic oak trees, and insectary garden.

Insider Tip: If you’re the type who loves to learn while you sip, consider attending one (or all) of Groth’s Oakville Summer School offerings. This intimate educational series, highlighting topics such as “The Art of Blending” and “Vineyard & Cellar Walk,” includes behind-the-scenes tours, hands-on experiences, and, of course, great wine.

Raymond Vineyards

Sustainability isn’t just a buzz word to Raymond Vineyards, which is one of Napa’s largest solar-powered wineries. To dive into some of the winery’s sustainability efforts, don’t miss the Journey of the Senses Vineyard, Garden and Winery Tour. You’ll go behind the scenes, immersing yourself in Raymond’s biodynamic farming and sustainability practices, then sip wine, surrounded by the very vineyards where the grapes were sourced, and sample cheese in their sun-dappled redwood grove.

Insider Tip: If all that sounds great but you’re more of the sit-inside-and-sip-type, book the Proprietor’s Lounge experience. While not a tour, you’ll get to sample five rare wines, each hand-selected by owner Jean-Charles Boisset himself, inside his opulently decorated hideaway.

Sparkle On

Mumm Napa

Mumm Napa

Mumm Napa has been a destination for traditionally-made sparkling wines since its inception in the late 1970s. Gone are the days when the only food you could procure at a Napa Valley winery was breadsticks, maybe a cheese plate, and, if you were really lucky, a gourmet picnic lunch. Today, more and more Napa wineries are leaning into the idea that wine is best enjoyed with food.

In fact, many wineries are hiring talented chefs to work directly with the winemakers to create food menus that pair perfectly with the wines and also showcase the region’s seasonal bounty—much of which is often grown on the Wine Country estates and is just as, if not even more, delicious than any meal one would get dining at a restaurant. It’s a chance for visitors to elevate the typical wine tasting experience while relaxing with a fantastic meal and learning more about the wine than they ever would standing in a tasting room. Read on to discover over a dozen Napa Valley wineries that are offering exceptional wine and culinary journeys of all kinds.

If you’re doing Napa Valley for the first time or the fifteenth, you’ll likely be tasting a lot of Cabernet Sauvignon during your visit. Cabernet is, after all, acknowledged as the king of red grapes in Napa, dominating 40% of the area’s total production. With a terroir perfectly suited for growing Cabernet, Napa has certainly found its sweet spot with this much loved Bordeaux grape, and the results are powerful, deeply layered, and age-worthy wines showcasing notes of black fruit, violets, tobacco, and cedar, to name a few.

Of course, the sheer number of wineries in Napa featuring Cabernet and Cabernet blends is enough to overwhelm any wine taster, so where to start? To help guide you, we’ve put together a list of 15 of the most famous names in Napa Cabernet welcoming visitors, along with a few lesser known wineries worth noting. Make some room in your cellar, because we have a feeling you’ll be going home with a few new bottles.

Stags’ Leap Winery

As one of California’s earliest wine estates, Stags’ Leap Winery has long been a fixture in the famed Stags Leap District of Napa Valley. First established in 1893, the storied estate is dripping in history, including the castle-like Manor House, constructed in 1890 from stone quarried in a nearby hillside, and the “old stone cellar” surrounding the cave. Most of the 85 acres of estate vines are planted to Cabernet, Petit Sirah, and Merlot, which thrive in this region. Their flagship wine, The Leap, is a classically styled Cabernet filled with rich layers of cassis, blackberry, baking spices, and chocolate, and a smooth, lithe texture. Since then, the husband-and-wife duo has taken a minimally invasive approach to winemaking, ensuring every effort is made to craft wines with a true sense of place. Though they produce a few different varietals, such as Merlot, Chardonnay, and Sauvignon Blanc, Crosby Roamann is most known for its Reserve Cabernet. In 1978, he planted Cabernet Sauvignon, setting the stage for the estate’s rise as a benchmark producer in Napa Valley. While Shafer Vineyards crafts exceptional Chardonnay and Syrah, it’s their elegant, age-worthy Cabernet Sauvignon wines that truly take center stage. The winery offers three wine tasting experiences, each providing a deeper dive into the character and craftsmanship of their celebrated Cabernet wines.

If ever there were a dream drive for wine lovers, the Silverado Trail would be it. A shady country road, lined with oak trees and rolling vineyards, what’s not to love about this avenue of oenophilia? Originally a wagon trail followed to bypass flooding in 1852, this thoroughfare later became a mining route and was the first permanent road from Napa to Calistoga.

The name “Silverado Trail” came from the area’s brief silver rush, although it wasn’t dubbed this until 1921. Running parallel to CA-29, the Silverado Trail is a quieter, less traffic-choked alternative and a whole lot more scenic, too. Tucked on the eastern edge of Napa, most visitors use this road to hop between some of the region’s best wineries, of which there are 40 that call the trail home. Whether you’re just passing through and looking for a picturesque view or you’re eager to bounce between vineyards by car or bike, consider this your ultimate guide to the best of the Silverado Trail.

How long is the Silverado Trail?

The Silverado Trail spans 29 miles between Downtown Napa and Calistoga. It runs parallel to Highway 29, one of the area’s major highways in Eastern Napa.

Where does the Silverado Trail start and end?

Beginning in the heart of Downtown Napa, at the intersection of SR 121 and Soscol Road, the Silverado Trail winds its way through St. Helena, Rutherford, and the Stags Leap AVA before ending at its terminus in Calistoga, at the intersection of SR 29 and the Oat Hill Mine Trail.

Can you bike on the Silverado Trail?

Yes! The Silverado Trail is great for cyclists—not too hilly but not completely flat either. This two-lane scenic byway even has a designated Class II bike lane and sees far less traffic than nearby highways like CA-29, making it ideal for those who like exploring on two wheels. However, since it is a busy road, be sure to follow these biking tips:

  • Although generally safer than nearby Highway 29, you still need to stay alert.
  • Mornings and weekdays offer lighter traffic and cooler temps. Afternoons and weekends, expect the traffic to pick up and hotter temperatures.
  • Be sure to bring the right gear: helmets, water, sunglasses, and bike locks are musts.

Silverado Trail Wineries Worth Visiting

Ready to go wine tasting? The wineries along the Silverado Trail are some of the highest rated in Napa Valley, offering picturesque scenery, peaceful surroundings, and—of course—acclaimed wine. Instead of sifting through all of the options yourself, we’ve gathered up a few of our favorite wineries to help you plan your Silverado Trail adventures, ordered from south (Napa) to north (Calistoga).

Reynolds Family Winery

Reynolds Family Winery is owned by the Reynolds family, who have been operating this Silverado Trail vineyard together since 1999. Bordeaux-style wines are the name of the game here, with nine of their 14.5 acres dedicated entirely to Cabernet Sauvignon. Choose from either the Estate or Reserve Tasting, served on their terrace with a complimentary charcuterie board and views of their lake and Atlas Peak.

Paraduxx

Paraduxx was originally created to allow the winemakers of Duckhorn Vineyards more freedom to explore other styles outside of Bordeaux varietals. But today, these red blends hold their own. You can taste them at Paraduxx’s contemporary farmhouse-style tasting room along the Silverado Trail. Choose from a few seated tasting experiences, or gather your group at the oak tree for a bottle of wine and cornhole.
